This is one of the original cabins built in 2002 at Blue Ridge Passage Resort. The random-size hand-hewn hemlock logs are difficult to impossible to get any more. The beautiful craftsmanship includes stone foundation, wide pine and ceramic tile floors, metal roof, vinyl tilt windows. exposed beams, rock gas-log fireplace and all wood interior.

The rocking porch veranda has a beautiful view as it is and will overlook the old mill pond when the dam is rebuilt. Rocking chairs included!

Best of all, this cabin comes fully furnished, decorated and appointed. The furnishings were hand-crafted of solid wood by Phoenix of Floyd. Also included are antique and art-shop decor items, all kitchen and bedding items, electric range, refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, washer and electric drier. The owner also added custom 2" wood blinds and a heat pump for economical heat and air conditioning. There's nothing left to do.
  

This may be the carefree way for you to have your Blue Ridge cabin. As a condominium, the outside maintenance and landscaping are taken care of. The monthly fee of $150 also includeds water and sewage.

Blue Ridge Passage Resort includes Christopher's Pizza in the refurbished Cockram's Mill building, an ice cream parlor, a carousel, and a gift shop. There's always blue grass and old time mountain music at the pizza place on Sunday afternoons. You can walk to these attractions, or head for Meadows of Dan and the Blue Ridge Parkway, 1 1/2 miles away.

You may opt to be in the resort's rental program to offset some of your expense. This cabin currently has some summer and fall bookings, if you decide you want to stay in.
